KATHMANDU: The Japan government on Wednesday announced a financial assistance of Rs 610 million for implementation of seven development projects in Nepal.
The assistance was made upon a request made by the Nepal government, the Kathmandu-based Embassy of Japan informed in a statement today

The support is a part of the Japanese government’s Counterpart Fund, according to the Embassy.
“The Counterpart Fund was established through the financial assistance extended by the Government of Japan under Food Aid (KR),” the statement read, “The Government of Nepal has procured rice through this assistance and sold it in the domestic market. The amount collected from selling the rice was deposited as a Counterpart Fund.”
